Stewart M. Weintraub SALT (State and Local Tax) Practice Chair Mr. Weintraub's practice has centered on taxation for more than 40 years. He helps clients plan and structure transactions so that all state and local tax obligations are minimized. He represents clients in all aspects of state and local tax compliance and litigation, from audits through trials and appeals to the appellate courts. Before entering private practice, he was chief of tax litigation for the City of Philadelphia's Law Department, during which he also served as chief counsel of the mayor's Tax Reform Commission. In 2003, he was appointed to serve as a member of the new Tax Reform Commission created by the Home Rule Charter. The American Bar Association Tax Section recently elected Mr. Weintraub to the Tax Section Council as one of its 2013 - 2014 Council Directors. He has been ranked among the Best Lawyers in America since 2005. Jennifer Weidler Karpchuk Associate Jennifer Weidler represents clients in various matters related to state and local taxation, with an emphasis on the minimization of state and local tax obligations. Ms. Weidler represents clients in all aspects of state and local tax compliance and litigation, including challenging audit determinations and real estate assessment decisions, seeking refunds from state and local governments, handling administrative appeals, litigating unresolved disputes in state and local courts, and handling post-trial appeals. Additionally, Ms. Weidler assists clients in reducing interest and penalties associated with past due taxes through the use of state and local amnesty, voluntary disclosure programs and administrative appeals. Shari J. Odenheimer Shareholder Shari Odenheimer's practice includes all aspects of estate planning, tax law, and trust and estate administration. She represents individuals, nonprofit organizations, private foundations, and family businesses in numerous matters, including guardianships, trust and estate administration, Chancery Court and Orphans' Court litigation, and international and domestic tax planning. Ms. Odenheimer is a member of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, and Chairs the Policy, Strategy and Funding Committee. She also serves on the Board of Trustees and was the former Endowment Chair of the Women's Philanthropy of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.
