Pride and Prejudice is one of the most popular novels written by Jane Austen. This romantic novel is a story of which revolves around relationships and the difficulties of being in love. The novel has grown in its popularity over the last hundred years. There are many different aspects to the story that make it interesting. The novel is introduced by a wise narrator, who describes and comments on the given situations throughout the novel. This si seen from the first sentence, "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife." Jane Austen uses a variety of characters in the novel; the main protagonist, Elizabeth Bennet, the other Bennet sisters and Mr and Mrs Bennet, Mr. Bingley and his sisters and of course Mr. Darcy.
